mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)
It is an early August night it is light so there is no one in sight, no sound but the damn crickets they keep speaking to me, whispering in my ear the heat of summer never really makes them thirsty, yet they are hungry for food that can not fill their belly I ask myself what can it be is my plate really full can that hunger they feel in the pit of their insect belly be me am I friend or foe ill never ask ill never know
