UNCHARTED TERRITORY

UNCHARTED TERRITORY
I held it in my hands.
It’s emerald eyes twinkled at me in idealization.
Suddenly its future was on me but what if I failed at my duties.
I stared at my new obsession, “time flies fast doesn’t it”.
But what will I tell her now that she’s looking for a mate?
I miss the days when it was as easy as “who can take care of a man”
Parents teach what they know but I don’t even know her father.
What do I tell her then?
Show some skin so you look sexy but not too much or you’ll look like a whore!
Make some money for yourself to be independent but don’t be too independent because you’ll scare them off!
Don’t laugh too much you’ll look stupid but don’t be grumpy so at what point is just enough?
Will I tell her that she is entitled to her feelings but can’t feel them because people are predators?
I would tell her, “only your father loves you!” If only I knew him!
How will I teach her that things have changed if I still have a lot to learn? How will I teach her what doesn’t make sense to me?
Will she be one of those trauma babies? Or the really nice ones? Hell I don’t deserve it!
All I know is that I’m absolutely in love with her.
But I wish you the best little one and mummy will try her best.
