Fate

Fate

I lie in wait of what is to come.
Is this always to be my fate?
My will is weakening through uncertainty.
Must I let others rule my fate?
I fear their leadership will be my end,
If I continue to follow their ways.
I will look deep inside of myself to find
my way alone through this haze.
I will follow no one's rule except my inner self.
Who should know better then I what is
right for me.
I will turn to my inner self and find my
my answers there.
I will not allow others to interfere where
they have no place to be.
My fate is of my own choosing and I choose
to follow my inner self.

About this poem

I wrote this poem when I was feeling uncertain about a past election. I was also feeling at the mercy of those around me and feeling a little helpless.
