Analysis of THE TREE WITH NO LEAVES

A disturbing pattern developed in my sleep
That keeps me tossing and turning
I was counting past lovers, instead of sheep
Like a shepherd, in my dream I couldn't stop herding

Awake now, staring into the yard at a barren tree
From my window, wondering about its peaceful existence
Caught a reflection of me, superimposed like a mental selfie
That tree without foilage, bared my resemblance
