Analysis of SIP THE TRIP
mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)
Take another sip, take another trip. I'm moving slowly in my eyes, but my surprise is I'm moving quickly inside my mind, and the voices of my dreams are standing still, waiting for me to catch up. I hope someday that I will
I refuse to die in front of any god or take a knee to any king, for I am my religion that I found inside the natural geographic magazine, and trust me, in my slumber, I remember hearing the banshees scream.
I wear my heart on my sleeve and my pride inside of my eyes. I take another sip of the drink of my reality, finally admitting that there were times I made mistakes, yet I have lived this life so far without regret.
I was always told never to trust a man wearing a robe with a cross around his neck as they hitchhiked. Across the desert, lost, looking for some miracle while being guided by the stars he thinks are sane.
I take another sip, and I'm starting to know that I'm seeing your traps that no longer work. I need a little rest, so I'm going to take a trip and get off your bus and back on one going in the same direction as me, or maybe I will follow the dream of my reality across the plains of the universe while setting fire to the bridges that say that I am unable to walk over. Because there is no looking or going back
Think about what you will, for I do not sip any sprits except those of my own, and the trip that I take is that down my own, wishing well that I fall into once in a while until I'm ready to come up for air and then again disappear. I'm still going to take many hits and get back up to keep fighting and take many journeys that will turn into years of worthwhile trips.
