THE WATERS OF LIFE
The tranquility of the lake
Water rippling to the shore
Lapping gently against the rocks
As it had done so many times before
Timeless as the waters run
Moment after moment without fail
Rising everyday the sun
Conceived of every given tale
Moments are a precious thing
Each one a true treasure
Seeming to forget what they bring
Far too much a forgotten measure
Keep peace within yourself
Value the moment you are in
Don't put life on the shelf
Your perspective you must win
Timeless runs the waters
Suns and moons will rise
You must find what matters
Before you face your final demise
Waters will always continue to flow
Restoring tranquility to bring peace
What we must learn to know
The value of every moment before we cease
About this poem
June 3, 2021 Written in honour of a young man who took his own life unable to deal with the world he lived in.
