Skydiving into Paradise

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Do you still have a fear of dying?
Then let me ask you. Why?
Do you believe the Word of God?
Or do you believe a lie?

Jesus Christ the Word of God;
Is merciful and just!
So, with your lips confess His name
And then in your heart trust!

Trust that He’ll forgive your sins;
You only have to ask Him!
He’s waiting, knocking at your door;
But don’t try to outlast Him.

The more you wait, the harder;
It becomes to say you’re wrong.
So, give it up and just admit
That He’s the one who’s strong.

Then watch the world try to harden,
Everything you know that’s good.
To make it like their hardened hearts,
Just like He said they would!

As those icicles form around you,
Even in the church they will!
Just remember Jesus taught you,
That it’s not for you to kill!

Leave room for the wrath of God;
He always knows what’s best!
So that your soul may rise above,
The many that won’t rest.

For they see death as dying.
In a place that is not nice.
But for us it’s just skydiving!
Into the heart of paradise!
