I’ll Wait for You

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

I know I’m getting close to home
There are traps on every side
So, Father I’ll walk straight to you
In Jesus I’ll abide

I want to run to show the Way
But I know I’m not there
Slow down my son is what you say
I’ll meet you in the air

I know the time is coming soon
Though yet my wings aren’t dry
But when they are I’m coming home
Its straight to you I’ll fly

Lord breathe on me just one more time
And lift me up to stand
The earth is coming to its end
I’ll wait for your command
