Snapshot Poem
"To love for the sake of being loved is human. To love for the sake of loving is angelic."
Morning light is reaching its finger tips over the tree tops
trying to get a glimpse of us,
because we are beautiful women.
It catches us still lingering in our sweats,
the couch in the living room hasn't been folded up yet.
Blankets and pillows are sprawled around.
We aren't carefree
but we are happy.
Droopy morning eyes begin to shine with our smiles
but the self doubt
rdoesn't try to hide.
eWe are growing into women
Thin a place where it's hard to know
owhat to become.
rWe are learning hardships in our world,
Gbut we know-even when we aren't sure of anything-
lwe have each other.
eWe love each other
yfor no better reason
nthen to love.
And we are not angels.
