My Sad Little World: A Free Verse Ode To Your Absence

I can not, I can not.
I can not keep thinking.
I can not keep thinking
About my lack of time
And my worlds lack of
Permanence; and you.
I can not keep thinking
Of you; of us. What my
Sad little world would
Feel like with you in it.
And you know. You know
All I truly am right now is
The epitome of my sad little
World. My sad little world.
The sad little world that
I live in. Limbo. And of
Course I've heard their
Theories. True, they may
Be true; it is true, for me
And my sad little world
Filled to its brim with fear,
And the arts, and self
Deprecation. I'm scared
Of everything; but im so
Scared of everything that
May, or will never be, and
The things I think should;
But, please. Please. I beg
Of you to listen, to see; but to
You, its just myself and
My sad little world that you
And I both conclude I’lll
Never be able to leave.
The difference? Done as
We do best; I think, and you
Know; I can not, I can not.

About this poem

Written in a haste of erratic sadness for the things that I wish were and the things I believe may always be. If anything is to be taken from this poem I hope it's the understanding for the abundant passion I have that overflows onto my pages, and I believe this poem overall is a testament to that.

I really like the solitude of wide open spaces with my puppy Bridgette, as well as the draw of the city lights at night and am always up for an adventure. I draw my inspiration from most things melancholy and plan on completing my degree in creative writing and literature. more…
