The Distance
Distance…
Defined as the amount of space between two people or two things.
In the absence, some find peace, while others find pain that the silence brings.
Too afraid to be “closeness” because too many can’t be trusted.
Or the experience of abandonment where too many left you dusted!
Feeling busted,
Somehow, you’ve become alone instead of just lonely.
The people that say they love you, show their truest colors, only!
Friends you thought were family, now you don’t even get along.
Lost many throughout this journey!
Rest With God!
Forever gone in the distance…
within our hearts, you all live on!
All of your family, you barely see them because in the struggle, they’re still stuck.
At your job, trading time for money is too stressful to give a f*ck.
So, becoming hurt people who hurt people,
In the distance,
you become isolated, selfish, and mean.
You don’t want anyone around you, you don’t want to be seen.
Add in a “pandemic” and to get the world back will take a miracle it seems.
Will take time…
Time that should be spent on healing and peace of mind.
The irony being it’s so far of a reach and too hard of a grind.
So, Slow it will go for the turn around to begin to shine.
Especially, while we’re all too exhausted to give any more of our underpaid time!
The ones left with a few”tries” to not give up the good fight. ..
Slowly dying inside.
Until the distance is all we begin to embrace. Fear, hate, selfishness, greed,
addiction and murder and our inner demons we’ll heed.
Our relationships will no longer be of love, but fueled by evil intentions.
God please come and save us and give us your love and protection!
We need redemption,
Dear Lord we all need your blessings!
Jesus please help us find HOPE in the midst of the oppression!
In this lesson,
If we all spoke truth in our confession
Would you heal our mind body and souls?
Would you guide us home from the distance so we can go back to being close?
Our spirits are so lost!
We’ve become so tired of fighting to be good and still paying an expensive cost.
And while I balance the best I know how, I try to stay only a short while if I head towards the distance!
Before the pain seems too instant!
I pray for change and most definitely some forgiveness!
I’m going to keep putting people on my shoulders and walking them over to the side of faith.
I’ll spread the word the best I can, with the help of your guidance and all of your grace!
Lord please give me strength!
Before I travel into the distance on my own!
It’s hard to fight when death and dishonor make the closeness seem unknown.
I’m never afraid, and however it plays, I’ll try my best to never give up!
I won’t become part of the fear and live in the distance like so many I love.
We’re all grasping at straws, Jesus, but I know for a fact that with you, I am tough!
I have lost loved ones to the distance because the journey back is just too rough.
But I’ve seen the miracle happen, and I’ve watched the darkest soul turn all the way around.
Lord deliver us from the distance, so our souls can once again be found!!!!
About this poem
The distance is a poem that references the place the people in the world have gone that are suffering from all the pain and exhaustion and ptsd! The people who have a choice to stay in the distance, or give it all they have to walk out of it and into the closeness! We have to walk each other home! Hopefully, this can encourage the lost souls to never give up trying and looking for the love, peace, and fulfillment that they will become and embrace once they finally make it back to the closeness! Be thankful! Be kind! Be true to love by being love! It will always prevail! Wishing the world all the blessings! ❤️
