Cowards among the Masses
Richard J Edwards 1960 (Ft Belvoir)
As the blood flows through our bodies there is so many characteristic and genetic wants desires and behaviors running its course through us. Acquired and learned elements decide what we do and how we act. Sometimes when we take a chance and try something new and out of the ordinary we risk being viewed by those in and around our circle as alarmily or harmlessly different. Now being outside the box is all and good at times because it forces us and others to be opened minded about diversity. There should never be any harmful malice negativity intended towards anyone meant to get a rise at the cost of anyone. The people who do that are ignorant and lack confidence in and of themselves. We all know that the razing of others has gone on at some level since the beginning of man and the smart ones will rise above it and toughen themselves up. The people who pick on others are cowards. I know this first hand cause I was picked on severely as a child and teenager. I learned to give it no energy and it taught me how to be strong when needed and compassionate when needed. Sadly in life some of our best lessons that show us both sides of the coin turn out to be very instrumental in rounding our life out.
About this poem
This one started to me in a good way however it took a tutorial kind of turn and sometimes I lose the inspirational flow and what I started does not end the way I'd like.
