THE INNOCENTS

We are not strangers to war,
but how it feels this time.
I don’t know what to do,
I have no place to go. I
have no strength left
to pull myself together
I cannot find the words.
Still, I must find the words.

About this poem

This poem speaks of our fragility especially in times of conflict (as is happening now in the Middle East and Ukraine), and yet how we find comfort and some light from words, either written, spoken or sung.
