Untitled #3

Envisions only seen, in an ethereal dream.
Like a Petal caught in the roll of a stream.
It’ll insert a silver lining into the sky.
Shape her little crimson heart, her ballet slipper sigh.

Indeed, her sun gifts light to dance along the dew.
Awakes truth, break illusion, I’ll stir in her hue.
She opens her eyes, now staring at me.
She whispers “Good Morning”, and boils some tea.

Her sunbeams paint the world with her being and her hope.
I dance with her brush, stroke by stroke.
A Petal in a current, out of grasp, nonchalant.
I’ll let her little shape dance for as long as she wants.

She has something to say, something to insist.
That… “Things as they are, aren’t all that there is”.
A squint to recognize the familiar, but only see…
…that she’s whispering “Goodbye”, and drinking her tea.

“I’ll miss you” I stutter against the mornings will.
“I’ll hold you close”, a vow against the morning chill.
A promise forever hanging in the space in-between.
Every sunset and sunrise, the space never seen.

Because a Petal caught in the roll of a stream.
Is not unlike a whisper in a dream.
I open my eyes and try to recall.
With hopes the memory won’t dissolve. At all.
