The Dopeness
I wanted to ask if you smiled today
but then I remembered
it's kind of toxic to tell a woman to smile.
Sometimes we can't find a reason to smile
even if there is.
And that is better than forcing it.
Like, sometimes it's more genuine to not wear a bra,
to leave your hair unkempt and not put any makeup on.
And being genuine is rare.
Why cover up natural beauty anyway?
Why mold yourself to other's comfort?
Mold is parasitic.
I just want to be a part of your life
and tell you good night
without expectation.
I don't expect anything.
I just want to share happiness with you for the sake of sharing.
I want to tell you how much I love you,
and I don't have a reason this time.
No ulterior motive,
even though it seems like everything about you is from a dream of mine.
The innocent history,
my first real kiss; first make out,
the colour in your eyes,
your blemishes,
your essence,
you're dope to me.
But I'm Luke from The Wackness.
I don't want to damage your wings.
I don't deserve such things.
And I don't want to hurt either.
It's a wicked game.
