The Stream

My  emotions swirl with unequaled passion
Dark and dangerous
Deeper than an ocean
Endless as the sea
Like a whirlpool
They envelop me in a stream everlasting.

Like a speck of dust blown on the wind
On and on I flow
In a state of confusion
Time passes
And the stream grows
I'm on a journey that seems to never end.

The roar is unbearable that rages in my head
I can't stop the flow
Open the dam
Set me free
My spirit cannot soar
In this final task I must be led.

But, if a single soul could understand
If one could help
I'd climb out of the dark
Into the sun
Up to the light
If I could but have a guiding hand.

I need someone who can gently ease the pain
Sometimes taking
Sometimes giving
Sharing laughter
Sharing tears
Understanding
Stop from bursting
The dam that keeps me from going insane

Someone to make it seem
That the rage
Turns to a trickle
In my emotional stream.

Someone to fill my soul with serenity
Make my spirit soar
Calm the raging
Quiet the roar
And join me on my newfound gentle stream.
