Unspoken Love
He stands before me, I stare in awe.
I try to be picky, but I don't see a flaw.
Proceed with caution; he could be a phony.
He said, ôHello, my name is Tony.ö
I tell myself, ôIt cannot be true;
How can this one be the one for you?ö
But still, a voice in my mind tells me not to be so blind.
We talked and we became good friends.
I didn't want to think that soon it would all end.
The day came to say good-bye.
I couldn't do it; I would cry.
I wrote him a note to explain
That saying goodbye would cause me pain.
He wasn't there as I drove away.
I hope to meet up with him again some day.
He was the one; I let him go.
Like a punch in the stomach,
Quite a hard blow.
