Analysis of Yearning in Grief
Muffled echoes of your voice,
Fall shy of my ear’s drum,
While your cold flesh,
Remains just out of reach,
I’m dehydrated and thirsting…
Thirsting for the experience of you,
But it remains forever locked-inside
My ward I keep of our memories.
Your presence seems so near…
That my hair fibers start raising,
My nerve cells start jumping,
But it fails to create the cascade I crave.
What’s left of your essence is fading,
So, with a mouth full left to say,
I’m dehydrating and thirsting,
Unable to swallow your memory.
