Analysis of She Is......
She finds comfort in darkness,
Her sanity level is close to twenty-six.
Her smiles are pure bliss,
Honesty tattooed on her lips.
She’s broken, but she’s healing,
Collecting pieces of her shattered self,
Scattered along her years.
Recycled words echoing back.
She’s too much or not enough,
Too fat or too skinny,
Too aggressive or too kind.
Yet, as you gaze into her hazel eyes,
Therein lies the key to her box of forbidden dreams.
Untold stories unfold when one gets too close,
Her scars taught her to always apologize,
Even when she’s been beaten.
She’s a misunderstood rose with thorns,
A peaceful dove soaring through a perfect hailstorm.
Neither good nor bad,
She has her moments like every human.
She’s built differently despite adversity,
Managing on her own.
Hell won’t leave her alone;
Each time she gets back up,
That’s when people start to call her phone.
Despite all of this,
She still has hope,
That one day she’ll be accepted and cherished,
By someone whose words will echo,
“You are perfect.”

About this poem
It's definitely a personal experience of mine put in a poetic form. I wrote this back in 2013 and touched it up a bit.
