Analysis of Belong

I do not belong;
To anyone,
A group,
A place,
Or even this realm of reality...

I am no one's favorite person.
I am an after-thought;
Or no thought at all...

I am the 29th day of February;
Only remembered when presented with my existence
Otherwise, forgotten for years.

I am a shadow;
Disregarded until someone needs comfort from the heat they endure...
While disappearing inside of my own darkness.

I am the empty space between the shadow and the soul;
Where love's unrequitedness goes to weep from constant sadness.

I am the dumpster for everyone else's traumas;
While being the grave digger of my own.

I am the faceless stranger you bypass on the street, while smiling into your phone.

I am not graceful.

I am a mess.

The thunder inside of my chest is an uncaring reminder that I am present, yet invisible to the world around me.

I want peace.

I want to belong.

I want someone to see ME!
