Analysis of Pass the Comfort Food
Mother had her ways of spoiling us
when we were down with fevers and aches
one special food was called tonies
strips of buttered bread
dip them into your soft boiled egg
back when we dared to eat a soft egg
no fear of salmonella
rice pudding was always baked
flecked with raisins and cinnamon
stir in the brown crust
then spoon it up when done
we often creamed our vegtetables
good way to use extra milk
Dad brought it in from the barn
still steaming
heavy cream was dipped from the can
whipped for pumpkin pies
just don't overdo it
or you get butter!
