Darkness of the Night

I lie in the green grass at the end of day
Listening to crickets chirp as they play.

I stare straight up at stars so high
Why I'm so stressed I know not why.

A breeze gently moves across me
Aromatic scents from origins I can't see.

Suddenly, I fall asleep I tried to fight.
Dreaming dreams in the darkness of the night.

About this poem

This is a rendition of the very first poem I ever wrote in jr. high school. The basis has never changed just the wording. I was inspired by my English lit teacher when before I hated poetry. I dedicate this to her.
