See Us.

Hello human being
You might not know our names
All we ask is
Do not call us insane

We are here for a purpose
Grow and be safe
And you have a purpose as well
To love not hate

We are NOT crazy or mental
paranoid or insane
None of those definitions
Fit with our brains

Kids are NOT needy
And anxiety is NOT a burden
And doing your job
To you,
Should be more than worth it

You have not walked our road
In the shoes that we have
We are not here to be yelled at
That did not work in our past

We are here for a reason
Every case separate
Do not use our pain against us
Our heads are ALREADY hectic

Trauma is NOT an excuse
It is a LIVED experience
Your anger shouldn't be affecting us
Point. Blank. Period.

Disorders are real
Read the DSM5
Diagnosis are crippling
You might not see it but we try

We are ALLOWED to be sad
and angry and anxious
Please don't work here
If you say that you hate it

You have a right to be angry
You are human BUT a STAFF
Do not pass on your pain
We came in here with enough of that.
