Coleridge’s Dream
Coleridge’s Dream
Absolutely everything, in the world that is outside of us, is also inside of us
Including but not limited, to cold fusion, teleportation, quantum computing
Our bodies, so disorganized, wings are upside down and feathers on the inside
We cut off all our long ranging sensing, driving without rear view mirrors
In the center of the mind, a ball of energy, front row seats, to the entire universe
Traveling inside our bodies, dreaming up roads, all nerve trunk lines lead to Rome
Like jumping into the sun, coming out in another star, millions of light years away
Stars In My Pockets Like Grains Of Sand, not even thinking, we dream our lives away
Hordes of micro sized animals and plants thriving inside our crowded bodies
Multitudes of colonies, all marching somewhere with us in the driver’s seat bus
Awkwardly perched on children’s booster seats, barely clearing the dashboard
Wearing platform shoes, with blocks strapped to our souls, barely reaching the pedals
Nine out of ten cells within our bodies aren’t us, but them, citizens of the Natural World
From all parts of Earth’s Dominions, not to be confused with the lines drawn in sand
On maps and sometimes scorched on the land, marking senseless, arbitrary boundaries
Sometimes as simple as where the land meets the water, and the body meets the mind
