Eclipse of the Mind

When the day fades to night
My demons come out to play
They keep trying to kill me
Even when I'm wide awake
Every time I close my eyes
The dead appears in my dreams
How can I escape this darkness
When daylight reflects tragedy
Time after time I fight these battles
Mentally fatigued and all alone                    Desperately & impatiently waiting                                 For my Angels to take me home
My heart aches for the love once felt
Before my soul they came to take
I'm tired of being this shell of myself
My mind full of negativity and hate
My health has  turned against me
Only further pushing me down
I feel like I'm stranded in a ocean
where I'm all alone & left  to drown
But the fighter in me will never give up
No matter how much darker it becomes
The demons may think the battle is over
But my determination says the war has just begun
