An Empty Bottle

I need drugs when I'm angry
  Drugs when I'm sad
  Drugs when I'm crying
        over things I never had
I need drugs for anxiety
  Drugs for my dread
  Drugs for the voices
        screaming in my head
I need drugs when I'm working
  Drugs when I'm alone
Drugs so I don't slit my wrist
        cleanly to the bone
I need drugs when I'm sleeping
  Drugs when I'm awake
Drugs to keep me numb inside
         so I don't fucken break.....

I guess we find drugs in many things. Some days, people are our drug, some days, habits.

A sad commentary on the habit/addiction. Need, need, need. And that screaming in the head stuff. There is that major deterrent. Plus loneliness, big time, debilitating loneliness. Very well portrayed Alfred. Hope that you are not presently sinking in that swamp. There is hope with each rising sun. But of course I hardly know sh*t about the torments…wayne blair.

Your poems are a kind of drug for the soul. Strong and bold.

Very deep; yet so true! Well done.
