Heart of A Social Worker

Heart of a True Social Worker

Feeling estranged beyond  belief
Cannot contain or separate these feelings
Dealt with Broken promises, and abandonment
Which also caused confusion, miscommunication, and isolation
Than went through an inability to take risks and had poor judgment
Lead to Withdrawing, Being Introverted, and feeling reserved
Acted Afraid, illogical and very impulsive
Learned to recognize, rethink, and guide irresponsible actions
Chose maturity, responsibility and positivity  Gained experience in supervision, observation, and planning
Received recognition from my employer, a promotion, and employment status
Mastered certain tasks, skills and than achieved goals
Arrived as a professional, caring, compassionate individual

About this poem

I wrote this poem because it describes who I was before I became a social worker and who I became after I gained experience as a social worker.
