Moses --A Great Man Of God

Moses was a great man of God
a great man of God,
a great man of God.
Yes, a great man of God.

Moses rejected the pleasures of Egypt,
but chose to be a Jew,
yes, a Jew.
Moses chose to be a
Jew;
he could have remained in the palace
and enjoyed the pleasures of Egypt.

Moses, a great man of God
led the Israelites for 40 years
out of Egypt,
yes, out of Egypt.

Out of Egypt
yes, out of Egypt,
but, he did not enter
the Promised Land.

The Israelites angered him
And in his anger,
he offended God.

How many times have you angered God?

God stopped Moses from entering the Promised Land.
Yes, God stopped him.

Moses pleaded several times,
but God said:"No."
"You will not enter the Promised Land.
Yes, you will not."

The Israelites offended God--
He became angry and vowed to destroy them;
his people,
his chosen ones.

But Moses interceded for them: "Have mercy on your people O God.
Remember your promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob..."

And God's anger subsided.
Yes, God repented of his anger.

Even God can repent,
what about you?
what about you?
yes, what about you?

You are a merciful God,
the God that answers by fire,
you will be my God.

About this poem

Moses has always remained a colossus in the history of the Jews. A rare gem. A great leader. An intercessor.

Moses was the president of a nation, but he never asserted undue authority.
