The Children

There is a saying that I've heard
and if I may, would like to borrow.
It simply states
"The children of today will become
 the adults of tomorrow",
so, how we shape and mold them,
while they are young enough to be
will have an important impact
on our society.

There are many displaced children
in need of a loving home,
who for one reason or another
have no place to call their own.
So many children
who need a helping hand,
 a shoulder to lean on
or an ear to understand.

If we say it's not our problem
and neglect to hear their plea
and won't help find a solution
Then we failed to see.
The importance of loving homes
and the difference they can make
to many displaced children
and the paths they choose to take.
