Words from a Pen
Poetry
Words from a pen
Ink on parchment
Blood of the heart
Sometimes dark sometimes light
At times thick, and at times thin
Bringing a word to a sword fight
Violence is not the answer, except for when it is.
Doing battle daily with the thoughts deep within
A wendigo, blood thirsty skinwalker, a treasure hoarding dragon
Quite chivalric to battle these beasts
Approaching them drawing the pen from its sheath
What shall slay the beast? They exclaim
A silver bullet? A wooden stake?
Nay
Tis but the stroke of the sword, the ink blood of thoughts and self conquer that will protect this world so adored
A modern knight leading the way for those scared to pick up that pen, display their thoughts, or face those beasts of the night.
Facing down the Minotaur in the maze that’s a mind
Fictional beasts are exactly that, fictional.
So how were they formed
Something so false yet so real
Born from emotions and terrors, all of the thoughts inside
All those negative feelings when manifested, are brought to life
Creatures, beasts, horrors, demons, everywhere in sight
The knight approaches, looks the beast up and down, stares into its eyes.
And draws his pen to do battle
For today, will not be the day he dies.
