Echoes in the Night Winds

Nice, neat… to a steady beat

with
Unrehearsed meter and verse,

Running back and forth in forward and reverse,
like clock words and earthworks

With word trains leading out of your mind-station

Stuck on course the rising pulse of love being made

Until that magic moment reaching a crescendo

Right there (yes) and holding on to it
just as long as you can

knowing you are going somewhere new
each time getting your mind
body, spirit overhauled

As you are being worked over

sensuality squared

consistently being, push pulled
out there led

Further beyond
followed into the back roads of your mindscape

one characteristic after another
Standing up, walking out the door

Blending Time/Space

And memories out further into eternity

With the night air flowing past body and mind Wrapped up in

Gentle flowing streams of cosmic echoes

Moving moods and melodies, our hearts pounding Drum together, winding us around one another

Rhythmically bending time

As if Mr. Punctuality meets Ms. Virtuosity,

Getting lucky on that first date

Because both of us feel that that’s the way

That it should always be laying tracks

In symphonies

Of mental notes leaving trails
i liken to the moods

In the mold of Jimi Hendrix and John Coltrane

A lonely saxophone wails. A Stratocaster screams

Soul rendering notes weaving back and forth

With the Earth Blues and A Love Supreme

Reaching across the universe

In Love
for all the right reasons.

Not why… why not?

Waves of cosmic echoes,
follow trails within our minds
in a deep soul penetrating

Wail resounding thru
our collective consciousness

Supposedly, when
it had been conclusively proven

Impossible to do so
the coding system was cracked

And we were set free
like chicken and dumplings

At the local greasy spoon
with chunky vegetables,

Savory soups
generously peppered

W/tender tasty, meaty morsels

Of succulent flesh
and juicy bones

Make you not only
want to kiss the cook

But lick the spoon

i’m not just
barking at the moon

Have you ever heard
the song of the loon?

Then, join me once again

This time …please

Try to sing

In tune
