To Hit No More

In fields where heroes once did roam,
Defenders now feel lost, alone,
Their hearts weighed down by rules anew,
That limit what they used to do.

With longing gaze and wistful sigh,
They reminisce of days gone by,
When tackles fierce, with thunderous sound,
Would shake the very battleground.

But regulations, stern and tight,
Have dimmed their once bright shining light,
No longer may they charge with might,
To bring down foes in fearless flight.

Where once we heard "Jacked Up!",
With no defense we ask "What's Up?",
The NFL is ruining their game,
By making it weak and incredibly lame.
