Only a Flower
We were only a flower
That bloomed in the spring
Our pedals branched out
And crowned our face
We were radiant, shining
Our leaves brushed
Touching and intertwined
to one another
But when summer came
Our pedals prolongedly perished
Each one gently falling
To the parched soil below
The wind blowing them apart
Which once blew us together
Leaves nothing but something
That once was
About this poem
Love and then loss are put into an extended metaphor about the seasonal change in a flower.
