A Dream in the Rain

Gentle rain begins to fall, pigeons fly to find shelter beneath a gutter of a red brick house. Watching the heavens cry, they stay dry. Start to make me wonder. Start to make me dream

Rain continues to pour that morphs and shifts  into a gray sky afternoon. A group of crows don't mind the rain. Hanging from a dead bare tree. A souls cove to wander off into a parraleless universe stuck in limbo. The grim reaper stares back collecting his reward.

The crows keep watch to guide them through the foggy rain a glare from their eyes.
Everything goes silent putting everything in
a standstill so broad. Daydreaming in after-thought.

The grim reapers smiles turns back at me. Knows its not my time. Sythe in hand walks and follows the flock of crows. Slowly disappearing peacefully in the gentle rain. Catching my breath I break out of my hypnotic mind.

I see each raindrop that drips and dangles from the cable wires of a telephone pole. Racing across one another dripping ever so slowly. A grasshopper looks at me from my windowsill drying it's head.

Amber headlights emerge glowing like cats eyes from passers-by cars getting caught in the rain, like hooded hunch backs looking for sanctuary through the puddle rain.

I step out unto my porch. I light a cigaret mesmorized by the gentle rain, everything so green. Makes me feel at peace as the small trails of smoke intangle with the rain underneath this invisible dome over my head.

I look across my porch and see crystal like web hanging from a water spout. Each raindrop that dangles shinning like diamonds in the sky a spider so lucky. How fortunate it must be for this aracnoid to call home.

Not everyday is a colorful day, sometimes you
need those gray and white days to complete your day. It's 5 o'clock in the afternoon rain keeps coming down the side of my window pane. A small waterfall cascades gently down.
The long streaks of rain that race down this blurry window frame.

Today although it's mellow, the air is fresh the grass is green. Moss sprouts runs down the bark of tree. A group of trees sway gently enjoying this rainy day a trees own playground. The sun's light begins to pierce through like a ghostly wandering soul. Creating a rainbow in it's path. A blessing so immaculate, no danger to fear. A fraction of peace.

In an instant the halo of light vanishes within the clouds like a flying omni.
A speck of light in this rainful afternoon warms my heart. In this gentle rainy day, wash away make me new. Fill my heart with feelings that are true. For now, I observe at awe this gentle rain so hypnotic.

About this poem

I write as a way of sometimes you need to pause, watch rain and nature. To find your groove when patience is averted all you need is rain to calm your day.
