EPIC POEM

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

EPIC POEM

Sitting here in my chair
As words flow from my mind
Sometimes it's just a prayer
‘Times there's a jewel to find

Each time I seek the verse
That lifts you from the dark
Let me words break the curse
Let my poem be come the spark

Lord let this be an Epic Poem!
The one that will grow ‘em
The Light that'll show ‘em
Let this be an Epic poem

You know it's not the might
That’s Salvation is ensured
Power will never bring the Light
Only by God's Spirit are we cured

So God I pray, let Your Spirit here
Let it flow boldly through the verse
Let my humble words become clear
And Your Spirit break every curse

Lord let this be an Epic Poem!
The one that will grow ‘em
The Light that'll show ‘em
Let this be an Epic poem

Lord thank you for this talent
Give me the guidance to write
May my words be wisely spent
That my worship shines Your Light

I pray hearts, reading get touched
I pray that I'm always pointing ta You
May these simple words reveal much
Let us all be epic epistles for You

Lord let this be an Epic Poem!
The one that will grow ‘em
The Light that'll show ‘em
Let this be an Epic poem

Our battles, God they tell a story
As we arise each time that we fall
We sing praise, to God be the Glory
That's the testimony of us all

Father don't let me ever sit silent
Let me stand as David once stood,
My words be stones for the Giant.
As we all say that God is Good!

Lord let this be an Epic Poem!
The one that will grow ‘em
The Light that'll show ‘em
Let this be an Epic poem
An Epic Poem …
Amen

About this poem

16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:16-17
