The OS Respect

The O. S. Respect

The massacre that day was felt in such a way by the whole town,
and all of the land.
And every lying tongue silenced, by respect gained through violence,  because the righteous did finally stand.
You see, rivers of blood flowed from tongues
cut out of throats
of deceivers,
plotting to play.
All those who would lie, steal, and use from real hearts that were loving, caring, and giving,
Would leave nothing but dust, bitter hearts, and broken trust,
until empty were the days of their living.
     But one man stood up.
Pure of heart and not corrupt.
And incensed by this willful deception.
So with axe and purpose, he set out to remove what was worthless, to end this malignant infection.
And the little town was cured,
    But far spread the word
that there was now a line that dare not be crossed.
     As respect was now earned,
By those who were kind, but got burned.
By those who had paid the cost.
For the willful deceiver, liar, thief, nonbeliever were held accountable now for all of their strife.
Some lost a hand or a thumb, some a tongue and struck  dumb, but so many lost a life.
