Farming and the Moon

Sometimes a full moon that appears
Close to the start of Fall,
Will shine an eerie light on clear
Nights brighter than them all.

Before the tractor was first used
In eighteen ninety-two,
A Harvest Moon let farmers choose
To use its light to do

Some extra work to harvest crops
To finally be done
With work this year and then to stop
To rest and just have fun.
