I Depise You

I Depise You
1

I despise you deeply,
With every fiber of my being.
You were supposed to be her protector;
Her sense of peace.

I hope you live feeling tortured
For the pain that you caused.
I hope you feel every ounce of grief
From everyone suffering her loss.

There are so many questions
We will never have an answer to.
We all know in our hearts
Everything points to you.

The vows you took meant nothing;
They were just a meaningless expression.
You didn't do your job as a husband;
Forcing her into depression.

Why did she have to lose her life
It was too soon to be taken.
I hope that truth keeps you awake a night;
With nightmares, sweats and feeling shaken.

I hope you see her face,
Everytime you close your eyes.
I hope you think of how you treated her.
Your controlling manipulative lies.

Regardless of the details
The fault is your own.
I pray the rest of your life
Is spent sorrowful and alone.

About this poem

This poem is about the deep emotion I have felt since the passing of my sister. It has been difficult and confusing as to what actually happened. Unanswered questions makes it harder to process.

Sarah Trent

Poetry has been my go to since I was a young teenager. I have struggled with depression since that age. A lot of trauma and loss made it difficult to communicate sometimes. Poetry helps me deal with the emotions and move past the things I feel are holding me hostage. more…
