square in the face, I'm looking

We have this time
seated on park bench
happenstance meeting
warm friendly greeting
and it's been so long
life moved along
marriage and daughter
my richest blessing.

So howboutyou?
good stuff come through?
wasn't it woodwork?
Used to go berserk
Sawing and nailing
Left thumb impaling.
Now is your trade
Based on the same?
Skill upped to masterful
Carved with your name?

Friend now would hesitate
things had not turned out great
Family terminated
friends lost in mix.
Friendly talk nix.
