Dear two

I realised something today.

I walked around a shit “ethnic” shop,
and touched every piece of tawdry
affectation they had to offer,
and found out something.

I gave you the wrong rings.

I should have given black the CELTIC RUNES.
I should have given green the TIGER EYE.

The runes were my connection with
family and music.
The eye was my connection with independence and love.

When I thought about it,
it made me genuinely sad.

And then I had an epiphany.

It doesn’t matter,
as I realised something better.

That you had either swapped them, or switched them, or sold them already.

Because things are just things.
And rings are just rings.

Hearts are broken,
and then mended.

I don’t know when next we will speak,
my friends…

I’ll check my mail.
Ask again.
