Sunrays

Oh, fleeting whispers of daylight’s kiss,
You danced upon the morning dew,
Soft glimmers tracing paths through trees,
A golden brush on nature's canvas.

In your embrace, shadows wavered low,
Glimpses of warmth banishing the chill—
Children laughing in gardens alight,
And lovers finding solace beneath your glow.

Yet here you lay at dusk’s somber brink,
As twilight swallows light whole;
Your gentle touch retreats like tides receding—
Hourglass grains lost to time’s deep ocean.

We mourn the moments when your fire set ablaze
The world with brilliance only you could wield—
Now silent echoes haunt our empty streets;
Memories flicker like ghosts seeking shelter.

O sunrays! A requiem sung by fading light.
Our hearts remember how you held us close:
When life was simpler and skies stretched expansive—
Where hope grew wild as daffodils pointed skyward.

But every shimmer must bow to night’s reign;
Just as day yields its crown with a whispered sigh—
Let us honor each ray that graced our lives :
With gratitude woven in threads of candlelight.

So rest well now,—lost but never forgotten—
Feelings afloat on soft whispers of prayer,
For though you've dimmed beyond horizon's edge,
Your essence lingers bright within our souls.
