Agony of Blackout

Agony is unplugging your phone,
Thinking a few taps won't do harm,
Only to have the power cut,
Leaving you disarmed.

Agony is watching your battery drain,
Like water from a leaky bucket's strain,
Each percentage point a painful loss,
An irreversible, heart-wrenching cross.

Agony is expecting the lights to shine,
After hours of darkness that seem divine,
But darkness lingers, taunting still,
Endless hours with no power to fulfill.

Agony is the wait that refuses to end,
Powerless, with no light to transcend,
No respite, no reprieve in sight,
Just blackness, an unyielding, agonizing night.

Agony is living in a country,
Where power cuts have become a habit,
Unreliability the norm of the day,
Frustration that never fades away.
