THE MIRROR



I look at the image inside the mirror like I did as a child. I look outside the window as this aging man with wrinkles and liver spots takes refuge in my hands. The face that looks back at me speaks in a voice I do not understand, saying this place has become your holy land. It is where you planted your feet to fight, but alone, you do not stand

    This is fine, but I am not certain what is that place that has become his holy land. Several come to mind. This poem has a somewhat sad tone.
