Disengaging
Disengaging
When you decide to disengage from caring
A silent sign advertises you embrace evil
Complacency, apathy and indifference
Become the soft versions of hate
Telegraphing you think it’s okay
Paying the devil and a liar
Who guarantees your security
At the price of your freedom and safety.
Not to decide definitely means to decide
A pornographic choice of convenience
That you matter more than others
Personal rights that require attention
Get murdered by moral judgment
Resulting in death and suffering
Reproductive rights and voting
Receive no protection or guarantee.
So newcomers get no path for better
Because you can’t be bothered
To build doors instead of walls
Everyone gets a gun and bullets
Over kids in need of teaching in safety
No one gets to love who they want
And the ones with so much
Get breaks you think build up others?
Disengaging for your convenience
Resembles a handshake with devils
Turning a blind eye to giving a care
Rationalizing is good reason
No matter who it hurts, right?
Because truth is too uncomfortable
God forbid your cozy comfort zone
Gets rearranged to do what’s right!
