Goodbye
And the truth is I don't even know where to start
I know this is going to hurt and it's going to do more than just break your heart
My palms are sweaty and I am shaking, and it's always been easy for me to write, but this time, it's so hard
I am fully aware that it is going to leave you with a couple of scars
I know I said I do and for a moment, I meant it when I said I loved you, I still do, but what's all that without trust?
Make no mistake, I never came to you due to lust
I did because, just like you, I always wanted something that is going to last
I don't want to put it on what I went and still am going through
I feel bad because I know you always stayed true
But I just can't stay
And after reading this, you don't have to remember, miss me, or even listen to songs we used to play
You can even burn the blanket on top of which we used to lay
And I hope you don't attempt to change my mind because it's already too late
You can go on and hate me
You can curse the day you met and decided to date me
The fault is mine, not yours, so you can blame me
I appreciate your efforts and everything you did to try to save me
But I am me, and I guess I will never change
I wanted to, for you, but I couldn't recognise myself anymore, and everything was just starting to become strange
I just hope you find it in you to let me go
And whatever you decide to do when I'm not here anymore, you don't have to let me know
All you did for me, it's all appreciated
I don't like handing myself my own flowers but you know it was all reciprocated
You deserve way better than me and all I bring
A man who loves wholeheartedly, and with all his being.
Goodbye.
