Way to go Auntie Kay! I’m too Lazy!

My favorite wishes,
No washing dishes.
With throwaway cups and paper plates,
Not very impressive though, with blind dates.

Easier said than royally done,
Throw them in the garbage, there is your fun!
No dusting, mending, or washing floors,
I dislike those too; let me lock the doors.

I hate washing clothes, wish I were a witch!
I could wiggle my nose, all clothes cleaned with a twitch.
Housework is for the birds, I royally do say.
I know whom I’ll call, Auntie Kay, she’ll save the day!

She’ll do my laundry, wash my floors,
She’ll do all my undone chores.
She will empty garbage, with no time to waste,
She’ll do everything with no haste.

She’s a great housekeeper, my Auntie Kay,
She’ll clean everything, she’ll save my day.
She cleans like crazy until all, is done,
Watching her move is so much fun.

Now that she’s finished, and the job is done,
My house is clean, no more fun.
Finally finished, surprisingly she says, “You must pay!”
Hands me the bill, and I say, “What the hey?”

Fifty dollars an hour! What’s going on, why the bill?
“You are my first client, now take a chill pill.”
Client, for what may I ask?
Surprised with that unexpected task.

“I’ve started my own business for money I need,
Please pay your bill, this I do plead.”
“Times are tough; I need money to live,
Need to charge everyone, please give.”

You are my Auntie Kay, who saves my day,
I am broke, and have no money to pay.
“You hired me to save the day,
Now you will have to pay.”

“Now, I’ll have to undo the work that I just did,
Also, let you be the slob in this awful crib.”
"You have a job, income coming in,
I need something to help me win…”

“My bills are behind, I have nowhere to go,
So now, nephew, you can go blow!"
“Do your own work around this house,
Cage up your rodent, that funny-looking mouse.”

“Do your own dishes, laundry, and cleaning chores,
Use that mop and bucket to clean them floors.”
“I have a business now! I’m the new, Auntie Kay!
I will no longer clean your place to save your day.”
Goodbye!

I am a proud graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, a mother of three, and a grandmother. My journey into writing began when my children were young. Living in poverty, I found solace and creativity with just a pencil, paper, and a vivid imagination. Instead of the books I couldn’t afford, I crafted my own stories and poems, which have become a cherished part of my life. more…
