From Breakfast Blues to Office Cheers

Making it delicious, making it fun,
Making it to eat, as I'm on the run.
Making it simple, pleasurable to eat,
Making it my morning, driving treat!

Tasty and delicious, she done it up right,
I'll need to kiss her, when I return tonight!
She made my breakfast delicious and fun,
She made it simple, so I can eat on the run.

Only one problem, I do see,
It’s her hair, I plainly see!
It's long, blond, real thin,
It's stuck to my finger skin.

Just like her, she is shedding again,
Went to get her hair cut yesterday when…
I was at work, just doing my job,
Now, my breakfast is trash, now to sob.

As it was delicious smelling, until I found,
The blond hair inside, now on the ground.
A donut I need, a sweet tooth I got,
Bacon and eggs breakfast, I think not!

They take too long, I haven't the time,
My watch is about to ring the chime.
There it goes the seven o'clock bell,
Now to start to work, today work is hell.

Being, Friday, the big boss is coming today,
He wants to cut someone's pay.
Will it be mine, or will it not,
I better sit down awhile on this here cot!

My head is pounding; my stomach groveling a lot,
Is there anything in his presentation that I forgot?
I surely hope he’s in a good mood and all goes well.
So, I'm here tomorrow at, the seven o’clock bell.

Boss is here, there’s a smile on his face,
Saying hello to all in a speedy pace.
No meeting he says, presentation done,
Come on employees, let’s have some fun.

We followed him to the lunchroom, speedily, we all went,
Where the flowers were fresh, beautiful, and no longer spent.
Bacon smell filled the air, a breakfast buffet was sitting there,
What was going on we all just had to stare.

Now the boss had an announcement for all of us,
Saying, “I know you all are wondering, why all the fuss.”
“I wanted to share my news, I won the Lottery,
And wanted to share the joy and camaraderie.”

As we all congratulated our boss for his lottery winnings,
We all wondered, will he be quitting for new beginnings?
Then He said, “Dig in while the food is still hot,
And to answer your silent questions, quitting, I’m not.”

As we enjoyed the breakfast buffet our boss supplied,
He made another announcement, that He asked Mary to be my bride!
We all hooped and, hollered in happiness and joy,
“That’s not all Mary’s, pregnant, we’re going to have a boy!”

This has been one great day, at work, all this great news,
Makes up for breakfast, that I had earlier, that gave me the blues.
I’m sure glad the boss was excited today,
As it sure made my day!

Instead of the books I couldn’t afford, I crafted my own stories and poems, which have become a cherished part of my life. more…
