Stitch

I could stare at you all day,
As you meet my gaze and rarely look away
I remember the first time I saw you,
So tiny! You could fit in the palm of my hand.

You were always shy and afraid,
Hiding under every piece of furniture,
As I begged, "Come out, and play."
It took you some time,
But one day, you came out from under the table,
And never looked back, ready to turn my life upside down in the best possible way.

Now, far from shy,
I hear the clicking sound as you make your rounds,
Head up high, fiercely confident.
You own this house,
You protect me and keep me company.

As you bark your way,
With energy unmatched
You fill this house with life and so much joy,
Always ready to play,
My miniature black dot,
I will always keep you safe,
As you schnauzer about your day.

About this poem

Sometimes, a pet comes into our lives and changes everything. Stitch, my little black Schnauzer, has been my constant companion, filling my home with joy, love, and endless energy. From his shy beginnings to the confident guardian he’s become, he’s brought so much light into my days. This poem is a tribute to the journey we’ve shared—and to all the small, special moments that make life with him so meaningful.

I don't think a human can ever have that kind of love?

A pet's love is a strong one. All they ask for is unconditional love. My poem crystal is about that. How I hate that poem.

Quite clear there is genuineness in the poem. The use of the English language is quite different and creative. Appreciated
