THE PATH TO INNER PEACE

THE PATH TO INNER PEACE

In life's quest through complex adventures,
Bitterness emerges as our greatest foe
We wrestle with inward anguish,
Often left unaddressed,
Transforming us into demons.

In a world of billions,
Our perspectives vary
Expectations from others bring dismay-
No flawless souls cross our paths.

Are you denying yourself of life's beauty?
Letting others' actions taint your own,
Putting your emotional and mental well-being at risk,
Judging the many by the failings of a few.

Once, everything held interest;
Now, sadness seems to prevail
Your ability to see good fades,
And everyone becomes a suspect.

Nourishing your hurt with thoughts,
Like plants with water,
It grows unchecked daily
There is more to life than clinging on grudges.

Release the pain; it stifles your growth
Forgiveness is the antidote
Though it might appear to favor the wrongdoer,
Yet it also grant you solace.

Bid farewell to your demons
And embrace the gift of personal happiness.

About this poem

Many a time, we often live in denial of life's beauty, allowing ourselves to suffer mentally and emotionally, locking up on the world, because of our encounters with people or whatever, leaving a lifetime mark of pain and disappointment. This poem is about healing from bitterness and embracing new experiences. With a mindset of limited expectations from people and forgiveness to those who wrong us so as to live peacefully.
