You're My Greatest Treasure

You're My Greatest Treasure

Your life is a tapestry of troubles and triumphs
The lone precious gift of two souls
With desires to express and yearnings
To be understood and be whole.

Your time is not always your own I see
Demands by others  from all sides
Betrayal by one who broke his promise
Leaving you at the mercy of the tides.

The legacy of a life threatening disease
Took hold while in your prime
Pain everyday was not what life means
When no one's around to take time.

One day a handsome knight comes along
Bearing the name of your city
A man named York from so far away
Who makes you feel alive and pretty.

The strains of life making are many
Stress from all directions takes its toll
Distance and time require so much
It's hard when you don't feel whole.

You know a connection and bond exists
Waiting to make your life complete
So hard when your man must wait
As your life struggles to make ends meet.

Days and nights are seldom your own
Your man barely fits your schedule
Struggling for patience he fails often
To rise to the occasion is a hand full.

Be gentle and see a pure heart within
Resides inside dented armor
He who loves you knows your pain
And cares enough to try harder.

Your love is his prize possession
And you have been weighed and measured
He carries a golden love for you
For you are my greatest treasure!

This is such a beautiful tribute to someone you clearly admire and love deeply. The way you describe their struggles and your dedication to them is so heartfelt, especially lines like ‘your love is his prize possession’ and ‘you are my greatest treasure.’ It really captures the weight of the journey together, with all the challenges and unwavering care. So touching and full of warmth.

words can hardly express how touch I am to read your comment. Without exaggeration or hyperbole I am at a loss for words, choked up and about to cry. Her name is Emily and we are engaged despite being very far apart physically. I don’t know how long it’s gonna be before we’re together. I only hope that our patience and love outlast the miles and time between us.

Your words truly touched me as well. Love that endures distance is a powerful and beautiful thing, and it’s clear that what you and Emily share is deep and meaningful. I sincerely hope that time and patience bring you both together soon. Wishing you strength, love, and a future filled with joy.

thank you for the compliment Susan. As I told the person before your comment, I am in a loss for words to express my gratitude is that anyone even bothers to read anything I write anymore. Critics, a lack of readers and people buying my books makes me feel as if I am a lonely voice, shouting against the wind, sometimes crying in the breeze.

Your words matter, and they are being heard. The beauty of writing is that it reaches people in ways we may never fully see, but know that your voice is not lost in the wind. Keep sharing your gift, there are always hearts and minds listening, even if they don’t always speak back.
